The goal of the study is to locate the unknown wintering grounds of Bulgarian reed warblers (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) using miniature data loggers. We will spend maximum netting effort in 2015 and 2016 at two Bulgarian wintering habitats. We will compare and contrast:

1. the proportion of SW- and SE-migrating phenotypes,
2. timing of migration, and
3. location of wintering grounds in each of the three countries (Germany, Czech Republic, Bulgaria).
